Quick Answer: The best Disney World rides for toddlers are Dumbo the Flying Elephant, “it’s a small world” and Peter Pan’s Flight at Magic Kingdom; The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT; Toy Story Mania! and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios; and Kilimanjaro Safaris and Na’vi River Journey at Animal Kingdom. Most Disney World attractions have no height requirement at all, so your 1, 2 or 3 year old can ride far more than you might expect (and kids under 3 don’t need a park ticket).
Planning a Disney World vacation with toddlers is magical, and it can also feel overwhelming. With so many attractions to choose from, how do you know which rides will keep your little ones smiling (and meltdown-free)? That’s exactly what we help families figure out every day at The Enchanted Traveler.
This guide covers our favorite toddler rides in all four parks, which rides work for 1, 2 and 3 year olds, and the height requirements for those first “big kid” rides your little one will be dying to try.
More than most parents expect. The vast majority of Disney World attractions have no height requirement, which means a toddler can ride them with you. The lowest height requirement in the parks is 32 inches (Alien Swirling Saucers and Tomorrowland Speedway), and only about 20 rides across all four parks have a minimum height at all.
One more piece of good news: children under 3 don’t need a theme park ticket. If your little one is 2, every ride they enjoy this trip is a free bonus.
Still deciding whether your child is ready? Our guides on the best age for Disney World and whether a 3 year old is too young for Disney World walk through it stage by stage, and do you need a stroller at Disney World covers the gear question.
Magic Kingdom is designed with little ones in mind, and it has more toddler-friendly rides than any other park.
More Magic Kingdom rides with no height requirement: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Mad Tea Party, Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.

Toddlers don’t do long lines. We build data-backed, ride-by-ride strategies and pre-book your Lightning Lanes, so your little one spends the day riding instead of waiting.
EPCOT might seem like a park for grown-ups, but it’s full of magical experiences for young children.
More EPCOT rides with no height requirement: Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth and Turtle Talk with Crush.
This park offers pint-sized thrills in larger-than-life settings.
More Hollywood Studios attractions with no height requirement: every stage show in the park.
Animal Kingdom combines nature and adventure, with rides that let toddlers explore the wild.

Any ride without a height requirement is open to your 1 or 2 year old, and that includes every pick above except Alien Swirling Saucers. Boat rides, dark rides and gentle spinners (Dumbo, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel) make up most of the list.
Because kids under 3 don’t need a ticket, this is the age when Disney costs you the least for your littlest traveler.

Three is when height requirements start to matter. Here’s which rides open up at each height.
| Minimum height | Ride | Park |
|---|---|---|
| 32 inches | Alien Swirling Saucers | Hollywood Studios |
| 32 inches | Tomorrowland Speedway (a grown-up drives) | Magic Kingdom |
| 35 inches | The Barnstormer | Magic Kingdom |
| 38 inches | Seven Dwarfs Mine Train | Magic Kingdom |
| 38 inches | Big Thunder Mountain Railroad | Magic Kingdom |
| 38 inches | Slinky Dog Dash | Hollywood Studios |
| 38 inches | Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Hollywood Studios |
| 38 inches | Kali River Rapids | Animal Kingdom |
| 40 inches | Tiana’s Bayou Adventure | Magic Kingdom |
| 40 inches | Test Track, Soarin’ Around the World, Mission: SPACE | EPCOT |
| 40 inches | Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Star Tours, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror | Hollywood Studios |
Disney measures at the ride entrance, so a child who is just under the line won’t be allowed on.
If you have older kids who want the big rides, Rider Switch means nobody waits in line twice. Here’s how it works:
If only one adult is in Party B, that adult can ride again with Party A’s group. Rider Switch is available at many attractions in all four parks.
Toddlers and long lines don’t mix. That’s where we come in. At The Enchanted Traveler, we build data-backed, ride-by-ride strategies around your family and pre-book your Lightning Lanes, so you’re not tracking booking windows or waking up early to grab reservations. You hand off the planning, and we make it all happen.
Want to know how many days you need at Disney World or how Lightning Lane works? We’ve covered those too.
