Quick Answer: Christmas at Walt Disney World 2026 runs from November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027. The decorations, ride overlays, and most seasonal shows are included with regular park admission. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom (25 nights, November 8 to December 22, $189 to $229) and Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios (15 nights, November 7 to January 5, $169 to $199) each require their own ticket. EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 through December 30, and Candlelight Processional dining packages open for booking on October 14.
Christmas at Disney World is one of the most beautiful times of year to visit, and it is also one of the easiest trips to get wrong. The decorations go up for everyone, but the moments families remember most (the Christmas parade, the fireworks over a glowing Cinderella Castle, Candlelight Processional at EPCOT) come with their own tickets, their own booking windows, and this year, their own sell-out dates.
We have been planning Disney holiday trips for families since 2012, and the pattern is always the same. The families who get the Christmas trip they pictured are the ones who made a few key decisions early and in the right order. Below is everything Disney has announced for the 2026 season, what is included with your park ticket and what is not, and how we would plan around all of it.
Planning a Disney Christmas this year? There is still time to build a plan around the parties, Candlelight, and the best weeks to go.
Walt Disney World’s 2026 holiday season officially runs from November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027. That is when the decorations are up across all four parks, Disney Springs, and the resort hotels, and when most of the seasonal entertainment is running. The two holiday parties start a few days earlier, and EPCOT waits until the day after Thanksgiving to begin its festival.
| Holiday Experience | 2026 Dates | Ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Holiday season (decor, ride overlays, seasonal shows) | November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027 | Included with park admission |
| Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom) | 25 select nights, November 8 to December 22 | Separate ticket, $189 to $229 plus tax |
| Disney Jollywood Nights (Hollywood Studios) | 15 select nights, November 7 to January 5 | Separate ticket, $169 to $199 plus tax |
| EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays | November 27 to December 30 | Included with EPCOT admission (food is extra) |
| Candlelight Processional (EPCOT) | November 27 to December 30, three shows nightly | Included with EPCOT admission; dining packages guarantee a seat |
| Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind holiday soundtrack | November 25 to January 6 | Included with EPCOT admission |
A lot of families assume a Disney Christmas means buying a party ticket. It does not have to. Each park has its own holiday personality, and most of it comes with the ticket you already have.

Cinderella Castle gets its holiday transformation, Main Street is decked out from end to end, and the Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise. Frozen Holiday Surprise returns at the castle, and Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away continues on nights when there is no party. Keep in mind that Magic Kingdom closes early to regular guests on party nights, which is one of the reasons park order matters so much in November and December.
The International Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 through December 30, with Holiday Kitchens serving seasonal food from around the world, holiday storytellers throughout World Showcase, Santa sightings, the JOYFUL! gospel celebration, a Gingerbread Spaceship Earth display, and Candlelight Processional. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind also gets a holiday soundtrack from November 25 through January 6 (a fun one if your family has already ridden it).
This year brings a holiday overlay to The Electric Mayhem’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, new holiday music on Alien Swirling Saucers, and the return of Sunset Seasons Greetings, the holiday projection show on the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Santa has a brand-new home this year. Santa’s Holiday Grove is a new experience across from Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!, with a trail, gentle snow flurries, and Santa himself ready to hear wish lists. Merry Menagerie returns to Discovery Island, the Tree of Life Awakenings get their holiday edition, and Mickey and Minnie greet guests in their holiday outfits.
The resort hotels decorate for the season too, and an evening wander through a few of the deluxe resort lobbies is one of our favorite low-key holiday traditions to build into a plan. It costs nothing, the kids love it, and it gives a busy park day a calm, cozy ending. One change to know about this year: Disney has confirmed that the Grand Floridian’s famous gingerbread house will not return for the 2026 holiday season.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed evening event at Magic Kingdom on 25 select nights from November 8 through December 22, 2026. The party runs from 7:00pm to midnight, and party guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00pm. Tickets are $189 to $229 per person plus tax depending on the night, and Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket on select nights.
2026 party nights: November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, and 29, and December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, and 22.
What the party includes: Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration on the castle stage, characters in their holiday outfits, complimentary holiday treats, and holiday overlays on several attractions.
Sell-out status: As of October 10, four nights have sold out (November 12, November 24, December 20, and December 22). The party has sold out every single night for the last four years, so if a party night matters to your family, now is the time to choose it.
For most families who want the full Magic Kingdom Christmas, yes. The parade and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks are party-only entertainment until the party season ends, the park is limited to party guests for the evening, and the whole atmosphere feels different from a regular December night. It is also a real expense. A family of four will spend roughly $800 to $975 with tax for one evening, so it should be a deliberate choice rather than something you add because it’s Christmas.
One thing we always plan around: because party guests can enter at 4:00pm, the party can become a relaxed afternoon and evening in Magic Kingdom after a slow resort morning, instead of requiring a separate full park day. Whether that works for your family depends on your park order and how many days you have (our guide to how many days you need at Disney World explains why Magic Kingdom usually deserves two), and it is why we always choose the party night as part of the whole plan.
Party nights are selling out, and the right night depends on your park days and dining. We will match a party night to your family’s plan.
Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed, limited-capacity holiday event at Hollywood Studios on 15 select nights from November 7, 2026 through January 5, 2027, mostly on Saturdays and Mondays. For the first time, the party continues into the new year with dates on January 3 and January 5, which is great news for families traveling right after New Year’s. The event runs from 7:30pm to 12:30am, guests can enter as early as 5:30pm, and you do not need a separate park ticket that day. Tickets are $169 to $199 per person plus tax.
The evening includes the Disney Holidays in Hollywood stage show hosted by Kermit and Miss Piggy, the Glisten skating show in front of the Chinese Theater, a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along, the 1930s-inspired Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club, and the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! fireworks.
If your kids are a little older, or your family loves the Muppets and The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jollywood Nights is a lot of fun. It feels more like a festive night out than a classic Christmas party, with a bit of old Hollywood glamour. For families with little ones who want Santa, a Christmas parade, and fireworks over the castle, we usually point them toward the Magic Kingdom party first.
Candlelight Processional is the Christmas story read by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by a full orchestra and a mass choir at the America Gardens Theatre. It is included with EPCOT admission and runs three times nightly at 4:45pm, 6:30pm, and 8:00pm from November 27 through December 30. Seating without a reservation is first come, first served, and lines for the most popular narrators form well before showtime.
A Candlelight Processional Dining Package pairs a meal at a participating EPCOT restaurant with a guaranteed seat for that day’s show. Those packages open for booking on October 14, and the most popular narrator dates go quickly.
| 2026 Dates | Narrator |
|---|---|
| November 27 to 28 | To be announced |
| November 29 to December 1 | Gary Sinise |
| December 2 to 3 | Benjamin Bratt |
| December 4 to 5 | Whoopi Goldberg |
| December 6 to 7 | Robin Roberts |
| December 8 to 9 | Jason Kelce |
| December 10 to 12 | Neil Patrick Harris |
| December 13 to 14 | Josh Groban |
| December 15 to 16 | Lauren Daigle |
| December 17 to 19 | Ralph Macchio |
| December 20 to 21 | Henry Winkler |
| December 22 to 23 | Lacey Chabert |
| December 24 to 25 | Jodi Benson |
| December 26 to 27 | Simu Liu |
| December 28 to 30 | Eva Longoria |
Narrator schedules can change, so we always confirm the current lineup before booking a dining package.
Candlelight dining packages open October 14, and the favorite narrators go fast. If you are traveling this season, we would love to help you get the night you want.
If your dates are flexible, the first two weeks of December are our favorite window for a Christmas trip. Everything is running by then (the decorations, EPCOT’s festival, Candlelight, and both parties), and crowds are usually more manageable than Thanksgiving week or the stretch from about December 20 through New Year’s Day, which is consistently one of the busiest times of the entire year at Disney World. For a week-by-week look, our guide to the best and worst weeks to visit Disney World in 2026 breaks it down.
If Christmas week is the only time your family can go, it is still worth it. It simply needs a stronger plan, with earlier mornings, Lightning Lane selections booked the moment your window opens, and realistic expectations for each day. Keep in mind that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ends on December 22, so a Christmas week trip will not include a party night at Magic Kingdom (Jollywood Nights has one more date on December 23, then returns January 3 and 5).
All four parks are open on Christmas Day, and it is one of the busiest days of the year, so that is a day we plan very carefully.
This is where working with a planner makes a real difference. When you reserve a consultation with us, we look at your exact dates and talk through how to make the most of them in depth: which parks to visit on which days, where a party night fits best, and which mornings are worth an early start. From there, we build a custom ride-by-ride itinerary for every park day, with Lightning Lane selections timed so your family spends more of the season enjoying the lights and far less of it standing in line.
Not sure which week makes the most sense for your family? We will look at your dates and tell you exactly how we would plan them.
Every Christmas trip we plan starts with one question: what does this family most want to see and feel? From there, the plan comes together in a specific order, because in December one decision affects the next.
Our families do not spend November refreshing ticket pages or setting alarms for booking windows. We handle every one of those steps, and they arrive with a plan that lets them actually enjoy the season.
The 2026 holiday season officially begins on November 13, 2026 and runs through January 6, 2027. Decorations, holiday ride overlays, and seasonal entertainment run across all four parks, Disney Springs, and the resort hotels during that time.
Tickets range from $189 to $229 per person plus tax, depending on the night. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket on select nights. Earlier November nights are typically the least expensive, and nights closer to Christmas are the most expensive.
No. A Disney Jollywood Nights ticket includes entry to Hollywood Studios as early as 5:30pm on the night of the event, so you do not need a separate park ticket for that day.
Yes. Candlelight Processional is included with EPCOT admission, with three shows nightly. Seating is first come, first served unless you book a Candlelight Processional Dining Package, which includes a meal and a guaranteed seat. Dining packages open October 14, 2026.
Weekdays in the first two weeks of December are usually the best balance of lower crowds and full holiday offerings. Thanksgiving week and the period from about December 20 through New Year’s Day are among the busiest weeks of the year.
Yes. All four parks are open on Christmas Day. It is one of the busiest days of the year, so arriving early and having a strategy for the day makes a big difference.

Christmas at Disney World is worth every bit of the planning. When the important decisions are made early and in the right order, your family gets to spend the trip enjoying the lights and the music instead of worrying about what might be sold out.
If you’re planning a holiday trip this year, there are a few decisions we would make with you early. Is the Very Merry Christmas Party or Jollywood Nights right for your family? Which night works best with the rest of your trip? How should the other park days be built around it so nothing feels rushed? Those choices shape the entire vacation, and they are much easier to make with someone who plans Disney Christmas trips every single season.
