Quick Answer: The Disney Believe is Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, setting sail on December 18, 2027 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. It will sail four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, and general booking opens October 19, 2026. On board, families will find the first-ever stage version of Encanto, a new Frozen dinner show at Oaken’s Table, and spaces themed to Moana, Zootopia, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid. Inaugural sailings on a new ship tend to fill quickly, so it pays to have your dates and stateroom priorities sorted out before booking opens.
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to try a Disney cruise (or you’re a Wish fan who already knows you want the newest ship), the Believe is worth paying attention to right now. Disney finally revealed what’s on board in October, and a booking date is officially on the calendar.
Shorter sailings make it a great fit for families who can’t take a full week off, for first-time cruisers who want to test the waters, and for multigenerational groups trying to line up everyone’s schedules. Here’s everything Disney has announced so far, and what it means for planning your trip.
The Disney Believe’s maiden voyage is December 18, 2027, sailing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It’s the ninth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and the fourth (and final) ship in the Wish class, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny.
| Detail | What Disney Has Announced |
|---|---|
| Maiden voyage | December 18, 2027 |
| Home port | Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale |
| Sailing lengths | 4 and 5 nights |
| Destinations | The Bahamas and the Caribbean |
| General booking opens | October 19, 2026 |
| Ship class | Wish class (fourth and final ship) |
| Guest capacity | About 4,000 guests |
| Grand Hall theme | Moana |
The ship’s overall theme is belief: in magic, in family, in yourself, and in the possibility of dreams coming true. You’ll see that idea everywhere, starting outside. Woody and Buzz Lightyear ride on the stern, “writing” the ship’s name in giant yellow crayon, and a hand-painted Tinker Bell decorates the bow. Inside, a bronze statue of Moana (with Pua and Heihei) anchors the Grand Hall, where a water-inspired chandelier hides the Heart of Te Fiti.

If you’ve sailed on the Wish, Treasure, or Destiny, the Believe will feel like a mix of favorites from across the whole fleet. The Haunted Mansion Parlor is back, and Oaken’s Table follows the same idea as the Wish’s Frozen dinner show (with a different main character focus, since Oaken and his family host this time). Tangled: The Musical comes over from the Disney Magic, and Inside Out: Joyful Sweets returns with a few new Emotions. Add the brand-new pieces like the Encanto show, Gazelle, and the new lounges, and you get a ship that feels familiar and new at the same time.
Insider Tip from Our Team: Many of our advisors have sailed all three Wish-class ships, and the layout is one of our favorite things about them. The themed bars and coffee cafés are tucked into different spots around the ship, so there’s always somewhere new to wander into. We love the infinity pool on the back deck, and the themed restaurants with live musical performances are a highlight for every age in the family.
Thinking about the Disney Believe for your family? We’ll help you choose the right sailing and stateroom before booking opens.
The Believe will sail four- and five-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Disney hasn’t published the full port-by-port lineup in its announcements, so the exact stops for each sailing will show up in Disney’s booking system when reservations open.
Short sailings are a bigger deal than they sound. A four-night cruise fits inside a long weekend plus a couple of school days, which makes it much easier to line up grandparents, cousins, and anyone with limited vacation time. It’s also the lowest-risk way to find out whether your family loves cruising before committing to a full week.
Inaugural sailings come with real perks and a few trade-offs. You get to be among the very first families on board, everything is brand new, and the excitement on those early sailings is contagious. On the other hand, demand (and pricing) tends to run highest right at launch, and a brand-new ship sometimes has small kinks the crew is still smoothing out.
| Sailing in the First Season | What It Means for You |
|---|---|
| The maiden voyage and holiday 2027 | Highest demand and pricing; best for families who want to be first |
| Early 2028 sailings | Still brand new, often easier to book, and the crew has hit its stride |
| Later in 2028 | More availability and more time to plan, with reviews from early sailings to guide you |
Our Take on the Inaugural Season: There’s something special about sailing in a ship’s first season. Everything is fresh, the crew is excited to show off what they’ve built, and you can feel that energy in the air from the moment you step on board. If being part of something brand new matters to your family, plan to be ready on booking day. Families who mostly want a new ship and a great trip can look a few months into 2028 for more choice of dates and staterooms.
The Believe mixes brand-new venues with returning Wish-class favorites. Here’s what Disney has confirmed so far, grouped the way families actually plan their days.
| Venue | Inspired By | What to Know |
|---|---|---|
| Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast | Frozen | New. A dinner show in Oaken’s Scandinavian summer courtyard, with reimagined Frozen songs and visits from Anna and Kristoff |
| 1923 | Disney animation history | Returning Wish-class dining room |
| Worlds of Marvel | Marvel | Returning Wish-class dining room |
| Palo and Enchanté | Adults-only fine dining | Returning, with The Rose bar for pre-dinner drinks |
| Inside Out: Joyful Sweets | Inside Out 2 | Returning dessert shop with Anxiety and Envy added, plus nearly 20 gelato and ice cream flavors |
| Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora | Big Hero 6 and Moana | Two new coffee shops off the Grand Hall |
Oaken’s Table is the one we’d plan around. Like the other Wish-class dinner shows, it’s a meal and a performance in one, and it’s exclusive to this ship.

The Oceaneer Club returns with a Monsters, Inc. entrance, along with the Small World Nursery for little ones, the Edge space for tweens, the AquaMouse water coaster, and the Hero Zone sports area.
Three new lounges give adults plenty of places to unwind: Wishing Well (a Snow White storybook lounge with a castle-window bar), Sea Notes (a Little Mermaid piano bar built around a pearlescent piano), and Skygazers (an observatory-themed pub with craft brews and live sports). The Haunted Mansion Parlor returns too.

Staterooms feature new papercut-style artwork inspired by stories like Moana, Coco, and Inside Out. Most rooms have Disney’s split bath, and about 70 percent have a verandah, with more than 450 connecting doors for larger families. Concierge rooms are themed to Peter Pan, with a few special oceanview rooms above the bridge themed to Toy Story.
At the top end, there are two new royal suites (the Little Mermaid Royal Reef Suite and the Beauty and the Beast Royal Rose Suite) and the one-of-a-kind Believe Tower Suite. That two-story suite sleeps eight, sits in the forward funnel, and is inspired by Magic Kingdom, with each room modeled after a different land.
General booking for the Disney Believe opens October 19, 2026. Returning Disney cruisers in the Castaway Club typically get an early booking window before that, so if you’ve sailed with Disney before, check when your tier can book.
